Ted Spahn of Kennett Square

Edward “Ted” Leo Spahn Sr., 76, of Kennett Square died on Tuesday, April 15, at the Christiana Hospital.He was the husband of Margaret “Peg” Swisher Spahn, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Born in Kennett Square, he was the son of the late Leo and Marguerite Spahn.
Mr. Spahn was employed by the Kennett School District as the head bus mechanic, retiring in 1989 after 24 years of service.
He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Kennett Square VFW, the American Legion, and the Kennett Fire Co.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Edward L. Spahn Jr. of Kennett Square; one sister, Elizabeth Walsh of West Grove; two grandchildren, Christina and Lee Donohoe; and one great-granddaughter, Makayla Donohoe.
He was predeceased by one daughter, Susan E. Spahn; two brothers, Leon and Jack Spahn; and one sister, Mary Groves.
His funeral service was Saturday morning, April 19, at the Avondale Presbyterian Church. Burial was in New London Presbyterian Cemetery.
